It's good to be home

Embroidered t-shirt for a baby girl

Although we enjoy being in Denmark, it is so nice to be back home. We had a lovely time with my parents, with my friends and just plain relaxing.
We went there, mainly, for the christening of a couple of my friends' baby boy.

Another couple of my friends (who already had two boys!) had a baby girl the previous week, but I hadn't got the text message my friend sent me (I really should turn on my mobile more than once a month!), so I had like less than a day to come up with a crafty present for her!

This is what I came up with. I bought a t-shirt and embellished it as you see in the picture. Luckily, I had my "embroidery travel kit" with me. The flowerheads are buttonhole wheels. For some reason I just love making buttonhole wheels! Especially with variegated embroidery floss.

I also made a bib, cause that's a practical thing, but can be so so pretty too, and I love making things that a pretty AND practical.

I bought some blue yarn on sale, so now I can do some knitting again; I've really missed that!
