I think it's some kind of law!

You must have risklatter (rice patties) the next day if you have leftovers of risengrød (rice porridge - see below). They are soooo good! Eaten hot off the pan with sugar (too much, in Tony's opinion). Oh. So. Good.

Do they make these in other countries besides Denmark? They are a winter food in Denmark, and maybe that's why I had the urge to have them yesterday; the weather is so grey and cloudy and rainy.

We go to Denmark in about a month and as you might guess, I can barely wait! And since summer here in England has been virtually a no-show this year, I'm hoping we can still catch a bit of sun and warmth in Denmark.

I miss summer. Right now I'm listening to Vanessa Carlton's album Be Not Nobody and it so reminds me of the summer of 2002... which is my memory was very warm and sunny and there are particular memories attached to that cd.

But mostly it just gives me this need to be in my parents' garden, walking barefoot in the grass, listening to the birds and the wind in the hedges.
