Not much heart

Need a super quick last-minute gift for someone who's into designer labels? Why not make a heart brooch like this one from Moschino? I reckon it will take you about 5 minutes and I'm pretty sure your one will be better made than this.

I think there is something seriously wrong about this sort of thing. On sooo many levels. It looks shoddily made, probably designed that way, so it looks 'handmade' or like 'craft'. But what crafter with any self-respect would make something like that? Let alone sell it!

Also, and I have no idea where it's made, but I wouldn't be suprised if it was made in a third world country where the person making it is paid very very little. Which makes the £105 price tag even more, well, disgusting. Immoral, even.

Maybe it's just because I do not understand the appeal of designer labels that this seems like an abomination. A high price doesn't mean that something is well made or made to last. For example, Tony's got several expensive (not ridiculously so, but still) tshirts which aren't lasting nearly as well as some we bought in Tesco.

The only creative thing about it is that they somehow manage to persuade people to pay that sort of cash for it.

Am I the only one who thinks this is bonkers?

You are absolutely right. After being a Nanny and ironing a lot of those shirts I've seen the, make that wrestled with the proof.

Just don't be going all scrooge on us now.

Love your Christmas colors photo. I adore baker's twine, but I'm too cheap to pay for it.

OMG this is terrible, I can think of much better ways to spend 105 GBP!

That is absolutely insane; nobody should pay $5 for a piece of rubbish like that, let alone over 100 pounds! If anyone does buy them, it just proves the adage that some people have more money than sense - it's just very sad all round.

You are absolutly right. No self respecting crafter would send that out as a gift. My 7 year old nephew would do a better job than that... shameful.

Maybe it's "high fashion"... you'd have to be high to pay big money for that.

You're not bonkers; that's just assholeishly lame and obnoxious.

Love your blog, btw!

I was amazed - and not just at the price! Someone is having a laugh...
