Stitches to wear

A brooch for me! I finished stitching it on the train going to meet my mum and her friend in London last week. Public crafting, yes!

I am quite guilty of forgetting to make things for me. It's usually for someone, or something, else. I guess it's a case of the cobbler's children not having shoes, huh? Anyone else have this bad habit?

Fancy getting your very own satin-stitchy wearable? You can get it right here. I have listed the trio you see in the picture below. More to come. Gosh, I really can't decide which one I like best. Am I allowed to say that? ;-)

PS - the fabric in the background there are my Happy Clouds and Wonky Dots Warm designs from Spoonflower. :-)

You know, I was actually chastised once for crocheting something for myself. They said that was selfish! I don't often make myself things, but not because of that comment. I just usually see a pattern, think of someone else, and make it for them.

Wow, that seems really weird and mean to tell someone off for making something for themself! That's like saying to a chef she can't have lunch! :-D

I absolutely love these! I wouldn't be able to choose one either.

Wow, your brooches are absolutely beautiful! I also have the problem of forgetting/not getting round to making things for myself; my husband is constantly nagging at me, "Shelly, forget doing all this stuff for other people and make something for yourself for a change!" Cries of "oh but it's [insert name}'s birthday!" and the like can often be heard in protest to these comments, but eventually I do relent and make a little something for myself. I have no intention, for example, of giving away my entry for the Felling Stitchy Rainbow of Stitches competition!

What kind of material do you sew on? And needle? My goodness you do some amazing work!
