Gift tags recycled from Christmas cards

Gift tags recycled from Christmas cards
Did you recycle your Christmas cards yet? You DO recycle your cards, right?

If you still have them lying around, maybe you would consider keeping them and recycling them for your own use? And it is really quick and easy. For the past 3 years or so, Tony and I have kept the cards and then we've cut them up to use as gift tags the following year. Free gift tags, great!

Of course, if you're the kind of person who has to have gift wrap be all matchy matchy, this may not be for you. I'm not that fussy, I like the look of gifts in different wrapping papers and tags and bows etc! But I digress...

You will need: Christmas cards - scissors - hole punch (not shown, because I forgot it..). If you want to be a bit fancier you can also use pinking shears to cut the tags, or other types of fancy scissors. You may also have corner punches on hand or punches that make round or scalloped shapes.

Take a good look at your cards and cut out the good bits. Make sure that they will make good tags, i.e. that they are large enough to write on. You can often get more than one tag from a single card. Punch hole if necessary.

And, well, that's pretty much it!

And here are some more I made earlier. :-)
